AMVETS is one of America’s oldest and foremost veterans’ service organizations providing support to American veterans. The communications department focuses on covering events highlighting veterans and veterans’ affairs, as well as promoting the overall mission of AMVETS. Position Details
• Summer Internship (Mid-May through Mid-August; dates flexible)
• Unpaid
• Must have a demonstrated interest in digital media and publishing
• Requires a strong working knowledge of photography and photograph editing, video recording and editing, web design/development, social media, etc.
• Requires strong writing, editing, photography skills
• 30-40 hours per week
Responsibilities
Responsibilities
• Cover relative AMVETS events by assisting with photography, interviews and recording video footage
• Edit and publish materials gained from covering AMVETS events
• Update AMVETS YouTube account with new videos, interviews and other relevant materials
• Assist with web development
• Assist in updating American Veteran Online blog.

Requirements
Qualifications:
• Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (especially Photoshop)
• Working knowledge of digital editing software and/or practices
• Sufficient in both Mac and PC operating platforms
• A strong work ethic and ability to cover events over federals holidays and select weekends
• Must be a college student or recent graduate with proof of enrollment or graduation
