Are you interested in getting involved in Chicago’s music scene? Are you a hard worker looking for something to do that will look good on your resume? If this is YOU come join us at Reggies! We're located in the South Loop of Chicago and are looking for a few industrious and enthusiastic people who are interested in learning firsthand what it takes to work in the music industry. Reggies is a sprawling entertainment complex with two venues, a restaurant, rooftop beer garden and record store. Come intern at Reggies!
Once a week you’ll hit the streets in one of our buses. As a part of our street team, you will go to a shows to hand out fliers for Reggies Shows. We make it to every major festival and your presence is required! You should always have a stack of posters/fliers to take with to school and put them all over the school and neighborhood.
Reggies has accounts with Facebook, Twitter, Tumbler, Last FM and Instagram. You will create Facebook events for the upcoming shows here at Reggies. Frequent posting regarding Reggie events is also expected on both Facebook and Twitter. Last FM also will need event updates. We ask that while on the street team bus, you update Tumblr, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram with pictures and your whereabouts on the bus
You will eventually be asked to work the doors for shows in Reggie’s Rock Club. You will be in charge of stamping hands, keeping track of money, keeping tally of how many people have paid and what band they are here to see. You will also sign people up to the Reggie mailing list and sell Reggie’s merchandise. Before the doors open you are responsible for getting the will call sheet and any names that go on the house guest list. While working door you can update the social networks regarding the show with posts and pictures. At the end of the show you will hand fliers out until the crowd is gone.
During the colder months, Reggie’s has a coat check in the Rock Club. You will be asked to work coat check. You’ll be required to keep track of people’s coats. This is a great time to be updated social media!
Ideal candidates are hardworking, reliable, trustworthy, flexible, self-motivated, able to follow directions and outgoing. This internship is perfect for students in Music Business, Sound, Marketing, Graphic Design and/or Live and Performing Arts.
Requirements include an interest in music business, an ability to work independently, strong work ethic and time management skills. Communication is an absolute necessity! Don’t be a flake! Please do not reply if you don’t match these requirements.
Interns work Monday - Friday and occasionally on weekends. Scheduling is flexible with prior notice. This internship can count for college credit. This is a non-paying internship. It includes free shows, discounted food and discounted drink.
