Intel's Software & Services Group is looking for an undergraduate intern to work on leading-edge phone and tablet technologies. Behavioral traits for this position include: self-motivated with a knack for solving problems; strong written and verbal communication skills; attention to detail; and the ability to work in a team setting.

In this role, you will:
- perform tests to measure the power consumption of software workloads on leading edge phones and tablets
- record workload results for engineering analysis
- install pre-release firmware, operating systems and drivers on Android and Windows devices.
- open pre-release hardware devices to resolve simple hardware problems
- track major issues encountered, and file bug detailed reports ensuring that issues can be reproduced and fixed
- document your research on internal wikis so that others can replicate your work
Minimum skills and experience:
Completion of a 2-year Associates Degree, or 2-3 years of a 4-year Bachelor's degree program in the fields of Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science

Candidate must have 3 months of work, educational or hobbyist experience in the following areas:
- installing Windows drivers
- Microsoft Excel and Word
- Linux and/or Windows command-line computing
- basic experience in Windows Application development (C++, .NET, Visual Studio)

Preferred skills and experience:

- hacking and installing Android OS mods
- small electronic soldering experience a definite plus
- basic experience writing applications for iOS or Android devices
