Position Description
Serves under supervision for a specified period within the occupation and skill area that directly relates to their college engineering degree. Assists with analyses to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters, and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces. Assists with analyses for survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, and other specialties to ensure mission success. Support survivability tasks through all satellite program phases. Perform radiation transport analysis, evaluate single event effect rates, complete electrostatic discharge circuit analysis, assess micrometeoroid impact damage, model contaminant deposition and support unit electromagnetic compatibility and device/material susceptibility testing. Thorough knowledge of physics is essential. This position requires the ability to work in a team environment and a strong desire to learn. Experience with space environmental effects, radiation, electrostatic discharge, contamination modeling, and/or electromagnetic interference, is a plus. Computer literacy and familiarity with C++ programming and software tools such as MatLab, MathCAD, PSPICE, NOVICE and CREME is desired.

Do you have experience or coursework related to the space environment?
