Description

Penske is seeking an intern to join our Transportation Management Network Design / Supplier Compliance Team. This person will interact directly with Penske customers and will be responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction at all levels. This opportunity will be for approximately 12 weeks (Sept - Dec). Successful candidates will enjoy working with knowledgeable professionals in a great work environment. Working with Network Design and Supplier Compliance teams: -Issue resolution working directly with supply base to increase supplier compliance. -Problem resolution using metrics and initiating continuous improvement ideas -Train the supply base on the program, as necessary -Implement design changes as directed in our data management systems -Identify cost savings/improvement ideas for inbound network -Heavy Excel use, intermediate Access use, along with other proprietary programs
Qualifications

-Student must be pursuing Bachelor's degree with specialization in Business Administration, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management -GPA of 3.0 or higher is required -Student should be entering Junior or Senior year -Completion of some core curriculum classes is preferred. -Customer service experience -Skills required include attention to detail, accuracy, sense of urgency, and excellent communication both written and verbal. -Intermediate proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint -Willingness to work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required -The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
