At SAP you get your chance to put your ideas into action with maximum impact.Support user research activities for internal SAP projects as part of the Knowledge Management Competency Center's User Experience Team. Contribute to qualitative and quantitative user research activities including ethnographic studies, user interviews, usability testing, card sorting, and heuristic reviews aimed at understanding how individuals, teams and organizations work in SAP's diverse global environment. Working closely with other User Experience Researchers and Designers, help to support the acquisition, development and translation of user requirements into recommendations for both business processes and a wide variety of SAP internal productive systems. Help communicate user research findings to the business.
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
? Assist in conducting various types of user research as part of overall UX engagements. Analyze and prepare findings for inclusion in project reports and executive presentations, working in collaboration with the other User Experience Researchers. ? Collaborate with the project team, business stakeholders, and technical teams in the translation of user research output into user requirements and design recommendations. ? Support User Experience Researchers and User Experience Information Designers in a wide variety of cross-organization and corporate projects as required.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
The User Experience Research intern will be pursuing or have just finished a Bachelor's, Masters or PhD degree in Human Computer Interaction, Human Factors, the Social Sciences (Anthropology, Psychology, Cognitive Psychology), or a design-research related field. ? Solid understanding of how to conduct various user research activities, including user interviews, usability testing, card sorting, heuristic reviews, survey data analysis and ethnographic studies. Past experience performing one or more kinds of research activities desired. Knowledge of statistics a plus. ? Strong aptitude for presenting user research in practical and compelling ways ? Strong written and oral communication skills. (A formal writing sample suggested) ? Excellent knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook a plus ? Good interpersonal skills (i.e., comfortable with speaking to individuals) ? Solid understanding of user-centered design principles ? Ability to interact with diverse project teams / stakeholders ? Good self-organization skills; some project work experience useful ? Familiarity with and strong interest in usability and user interface design best practices ? Understanding of Web applications, business applications and internet portals ? A general understanding of current trends including topics such as enterprise collaboration and the use of game mechanics in organizational settings is a plus.Duration: 6 months
