Intern with GREENPEACE USA for Spring Semester 2013Bookmark This
San Francisco, CA
DescriptionDo you want to join the fight for climate justice with the world's largest independent environmental organization?
Greenpeace has several incredible internships available in our San Francisco office!
Over the last 3 years, Greenpeace has built a nationwide Activist Network to tackle the toughest problems facing our climate, oceans, forests, and communities. The Activist Network activates thousands of Greenpeace supporters, and our interns are at the heart of this cutting-edge remote grassroots organizing program.
The Activist Network interns primarily help us connect with our Lead Activists over the phone, email and online social networks to assist them with all of their campaign work in hundreds of communities nationwide. They also help our Activist Network team in San Francisco with all other priorities that arise.
Whether it's activating volunteers and other students across the country or mobilizing people here in San Francisco, you'll gain grassroots activism skills, learn about the environmental movement, gain issue expertise, meet awesome people, and make a real difference! Find out how this isn't your average internship.
What you gain from a Greenpeace Internship:
Hands on grassroots organizing and campaign experience with the world's largest environmental organization, Greenpeace!
References and a letter of recommendation upon completion of the internship
Experience building citizen power using new media and a cutting edge organizing model
An opportunity to explore a career in the non-profit sector, politics, community services, activism, and grassroots organizing
Our Spring internships start February 4th and end May 3rd. Part time and full time positions available. Most positions require a commitment of at least 3 days/week. Each intern is trained and closely supervised by a member of the department to which they've been assigned. We are flexible with your schedule and can help you receive course credit. All internships are unpaid. Unfortunately Greenpeace cannot provide housing.
The Greenpeace Activist Network strongly encourages applications from women, people of color, LGBTQ folks, people with disabilities, and members of other marginalized communities.
