Job Overview

To provide registration and non clinical assistance to an inpatient care unit/emergency department/urgent care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, or designee. To provide Customer Service support and assistance to all internal and external customers (patients families, all health care providers, etc.). Facilitate orientation to the Unit inclusive of all family amenities (videos, kitchen, lounge, phones, data ports, etc.) To provide data entry support and project support to the Supervisor and/or other designees.

Qualifications

Proficiency in system software, Medical Terminology, General Office machine operation and maintenance. Must work well with others as well as independently. Must be able to demonstrate multi tasking skills in a high stress environment in order to adequately keep everyone informed as appropriate while adhering to HIPAA standards of confidentiality. Bilingual in English & Spanish preferred.

Required Education - High School Diploma or Equivalent

1)To complete all Epic training after hire. Which will include Urgent Care SS training/ Urgent Care ISS training which could take up to 6 weeks to complete for current SS role (front desk).

2)To be available to work on an as-needed basis at least eight (8) shifts per four-week period. Currently Schedule is sent out to show open shifts and the expectation is that PRN will help fill sick calls as well.

3)Urgent care is open year round which includes holidays. PRN employees are required to work at least three holidays each calendar year: Memorial Day, Independence Day (4th of July), Labor Day and Thanksgiving Day and required to be schedule to work either Christmas Eve & Christmas Day or New Year’s Eve & New Year’s Day.

4)Required to keep up with training for urgent care, hospital expected training, and any departmental training that maybe required for this position.

5)Required to make 80% of staff meetings and met all of the hospital requirements of CHCO.

6)A PRN employee is classified as Non-exempt who is not eligible for benefits.
