DescriptionThe department of phoniatrics and paediatric audiology at the University Hospital Frankfurt (Head of the department: Christiane Hey) treats patients with language, speech, fluency (stuttering), voice, and swallowing disorders and children with hearing impairments. State of the art diagnostic and therapeutic methods are used. Furthermore, swallowing disorders resulting from neurological and laryngeal conditions are diagnosed and treated.
The Department of phoniatrics and paediatric audiology at the University Hospital Frankfurt is currently undertaking a study examining swallowing disorders in adults. Further projects are dedicated to the acquisition of German language (grammar, vocabulary, and other linguistic domains) by German and immigrant pre-schoolers. We are looking for interns with a knowledge of clinical linguistics to assist with linguistic, organizational, and editorial tasks.
Interns can begin at any time. This internship is unpaid and lasts for a minimum of four weeks, working from 9-16.
ResponsibilitiesWe are looking for interns with a knowledge of clinical linguistics to assist with linguistic, organizational, and editorial tasks.
Interns’ duties include: organizing and carrying out studies, testing participants, inputting and analyzing data. Interns will work together with clinical linguists and speech and language pathologists/therapists.
RequirementsApplicants: Students studying speech and language therapy/pathology and clinical linguistics.
Requirements; Native English speaker. Good German knowledge would be desirable. Knowledge of statistics and dysphagia would be advantageous.
