Description
Stage Directors and Choreographers Society (SDC), the national theatrical labor union located in New York City, is seeking a Journalism Intern to assist with the new quarterly publication, SDC Journal, a magazine dedicated to exploring the craft of stage direction and choreography.
Responsibilities
The Journalism Intern will assist will all aspects of the publication’s administration and production including but not limited to: copy writing, editing and proofreading; transcribing interviews; contacting photographers and collecting artwork; data entry and upkeep of subscriber and mailing lists; assistance with advertising initiative; assistance with general organization for Publications Office.
Requirements
Candidate MUST be a strong writer with excellent communication and proofreading skills. Hours are flexible and can vary between 10-15 hours per week. This internship is unpaid; a $60 Metro card will be provided for each month of the internship. Journalism and Communication majors are strongly encouraged to apply. Interest and knowledge of performing arts, specifically theater, a plus.
