Duties And Responsibilities Minimum Requirements:
The Communication Design Specialist (CDS) occupies a unique position in CNDLS that provides design support for print, web and video. As a junior designer, the CDS supports the production of web-based applications, print collateral and video components. The candidate must therefore be able to create designs that can adapt seamlessly across a variety of media and needs. Designs must adhere to standards set by Georgetown University while staying innovative, elegant and versatile.
As a member of the organization's communications team, the Junior CDS works alongside a team of writers, developers and designers to manage current channels of external communications while introducing new ways of advancing the CNDLS message. The CDS must have excellent writing and editing skills, and be able to manage publication deadlines, vendor relationships and production needs. In this role, the CDS must similarly adhere to University protocols regarding communications while staying current on new public relations technologies and practices.
In both capacities, however, the CDS serves as as ambassador to the CNDLS brand. Central to the role is a sensitivity to the organization's brand identity, a sensitivityto the unique aspects of designing for an academic environment, and the ability to maintain CNDLS' leadership in design and communications innovation.
