DescriptionThe selected candidate will function as a systems engineer for Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Combat Systems, Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance (C5ISR) and Enterprise Information Services (EIS) systems under the purview of SPAWAR Systems Center Atlantic (SSC LANT) in Charleston, SC. This shall include scientific, analytical, and engineering efforts necessary to transform operational needs into unique system performance parameters for evolution into improved system capabilities. Responsibilities will include: providing full life cycle systems engineering advice to government managers in support of technical and programmatic decisions; day-to-day systems engineering support; drafting, review, and revision of systems engineering documentation; technical meeting attendance, and analytical support required to successfully field and integrate C5ISR/EIS systems.
Education/Experience: This position requires a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of two (2) years of experience related to hardware/software systems engineering. Prior hardware or software systems engineering experience with C5ISR or EIS systems within a SPAWAR Program Office is considered ideal. Highly qualified candidates will also possess Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) (or similar) certifications. Master's degree is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Candidates must be familiar with systems engineering aspects of acquisition life cycle management. The selected candidate must be proficient with the Microsoft Office software suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and must be comfortable with the written and oral communication of technical information to senior civilian and military personnel.
