This role offers the MBA intern the opportunity to help define, develop, and delivery new patient care programs that improve health outcomes, healthcare efficiency and/or affordability in an organization where they can positively impact the lives of millions of consumers across the country. This role will contribute to CVS Caremark efforts to collaborate with the nation’s leading integrated delivery networks and healthcare payers to address some of the greatest emerging opportunities created through healthcare reform.
Specialty drugs represent the fastest growing segment of our clients’ drug spend. We must continue to develop and deploy industry-leading programs that help them manage these costs. At the same time, our programs must differentiate us as the specialty pharmacy of choice for patients and physicians. To build upon and support an already strong foundation of programs, we have reorganized CVS Caremark Specialty Pharmacy to more closely align with the needs of all our stakeholders and have launched three major initiatives to support this growth. One of these high visibility initiatives led by Kevin Murphy, will provide the intern an opportunity to get a new initiative off the ground. We are in the early stages of developing and implementing our home and ambulatory infusion strategy. Below are some of the key experiences the intern will gain:
• Support the launch and tracking of complex projects while delivering the desired results within the agreed upon time frame and budget
• Work with and get exposure to internal stakeholder groups. Including Medical Benefit Management, Trade, Network, Customer Care, Mail Services, Clinical Ops, Benefits, Disease Mgmt, IT/TI, Product Development, Finance, HR, Procurement, and other corporate functions
• Participate in the development of a growth strategy in this new market Required Qualifications:
*Availability to work full time for duration of the 10 week program. * Structured & Logical Thinking: The ability to identify and define business problems and issues, and develop strategic, analytical, and financial frameworks to conduct analysis and/or measure success * Analytical Rigor: Proven capability conducting and managing quantitative portfolio and growth analysis * Powerful Communication: The ability to communicate effectively and succinctly with a diverse range of constituents, both verbally and on paper, and with all levels of an organization. * Team Leadership: A highly developed ability to manage, develop, and mentor more junior team members to successfully evaluate complex business opportunities * Initiative: Ability to think creatively and be a self-starter with limited guidance and coaching and to proactively develop and present potential solutions *Minimum 2 years full-time work experience required Preferred Qualifications:
* Strong Interest in healthcare * Experience at a strategic consulting firm and/or health care company with a product/business development function or equivalent Education:
