Strategy Intern Special Operations
The Strategy Intern will jointly report to the EVP of Strategy and VP of Broadband Transformation and will be responsible for spearheading 1-2 special projects in the strategy group over a 10 week period. These projects will drive key long-term initiatives prioritized by the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) as it relates to transforming Frontier into a broadband company and will be scoped to start and end during the internship.
Illustrative examples of these projects may include setting a strategy to differentiate Frontiers broadband offering beyond speed/price, developing and implementing a new product launch strategy, evaluating new pricing and business models, initiating new partnership / business development relationships, or developing a go-to-market approach for a pilot region or state,.
As a secondary responsibility, the Director of Strategy may be asked to provide support where required for ongoing competitive, market and customer intelligence.
The Strategy Intern will work closely with cross functional leaders, including the Product, Marketing, Finance, Engineering and Operations department(s).
This is a Customer-Focused leadership role and the right leader should have a passion for understanding and serving customers, and an ability to apply hybrid thinking (business model, customer, technology/engineering) and customer empathy towards large strategic issues. An understanding of the telecommunications industry is helpful but not required.
In addition, the Director should have at least a basic grasp of all major business functions and the ability to lead a collaborative process that spans Frontiers various regional and functional groups.
The role is intended to provide a mutual evaluation for a full-time Director role within the Strategy group. The full-time role would include an initial core staff of 2-3 Managers and Analysts to support day-to-day activities.
Responsibilities Include (but not limited to):
- Lead 1-2 parallel projects prioritized by the SLT
- Set the vision and maintain risk-adjusted business case projections
- Coordinate activities as Program Management Office and collaborate across everyday functions
- Motivate team and lead process change
- Prepare regular bi-weekly updates for EVP Strategy and VP Broadband Transformation
- Present to Senior Leadership Team at least once during the summer
- Work closely with all regions and functions, including Marketing, Product, Sales, Engineering, IT
- Inform ongoing competitive, market and customer analysis
