JOB DESCRIPTION- Maintenance Planner . This position requires experience in Reliability centered Maintenance techniques as well. In terms of industries paper industy is ideal but steel industry / plastic extrusion experience or someone who has worked with big rotating equipment are ok as well

1.0 PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESMaximizes equipment availability through effective planned maintenance. Facilitates communication between production departments and maintenance departments. Evaluates the need for replacement parts and places orders. Schedules maintenance staff. Plans for interruptions in work and develops backup plans. Responsible for determining how jobs will be performed and the personnel required to perform those jobs. Manages work backlogs planned and unplanned utilizing the maintenance CMMS system. Responsible for determining and recommending to the Plant Engineer when work should be done internally or by outside contractors. The following descriptions are not all inclusive. They are intended to define acceptable practices and procedures. Responsibilities may change at the discretion of your Supervisor.


·         BSME, BSEE, or comparable degree preferred with over 5 years’ experience.  ·         Needs experience in PM/PdM, CMMS, FMEA.

·         Also, need to have experience in reliability centered maintenance techniques.

·         Paper experience is ideal. Steel / extrusion plastic experience or experience with big rotating equipment. Need to have worked in factory/manufacturing environment


3.1  Reports To:Plant Engineer


4.1 Performs initial screening of incoming work orders, identification of job scope, and analysis of required level of planning.4.2 Estimates required hours on work order tasks, and skills required to perform the tasks. 4.3Ensures availability of equipment and specialized tools required for each scheduled job.4.4 Obtains all technical and engineering documents, specifications, and drawings required for each scheduled job.4.5 Determines schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities, based on work priorities, quantity of equipment and skill of personnel4.6Maintaining the mill preventative maintenance program4.7Orders parts for scheduled jobs when required, to maximize efficiency.4.8 Assists Plant Engineer and other Maintenance Supervisors in investigating, diagnosing, and evaluating major equipment malfunctions and develop methods and procedures to improve operating efficiency of equipment4.9Participates in budget preparation and administration, 4.10Upon completion of jobs, solicits ideas from skilled maintenance employees in order to make future jobs more efficient.  4.11Establishes job priorities, with the assistance of operations and maintenance.4.12Keeps BOM’s current4.13Participates in outage planning activities4.14Coordinates with contractor resources directly on specific work orders assigned to the contractors and communicates performance expectations.4.15Assists the Safety Manager in the development, implementation and enforcement of all plant safety and housekeeping programs.  4.16. Enforces plant safety regulations including good housekeeping practices4.17Performs duties as deemed necessary by the Plant Engineer.
