SUMMARY:
The goal of the Internship Program is to build the technical skills of participants by partnering them with experienced Federal-Mogul professionals and exposing them to projects in their field.
DESCRIPTION:
Take the lead on one or two major projects that will benefit one of the Skokie Plant’s Value Streams.
Further responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Assist other Mfg. Engineers in the design, specification, procurement, installation, and
Start-up of equipment needed in all aspects of manufacturing.
• Create project reports to help justify capital expenditures.
• Estimate cost and timing of project tasks, and track cost, schedule, and performance.
• Work in a project team environment to implement manufacturing improvement projects using Lean Manufacturing principles
Responsibilities
EDUCATION:
• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Environmental or Manufacturing Engineering with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Junior or Senior Level status as of September 2012.
EXPERIENCE:
• Previous co-op or internship experience preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and Power Point). MS Outlook a plus.
• Proven track record of accomplishments both inside and outside of the educational setting.

• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
• Interest in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering career path in automotive industry.
• Interest in automotive tier 1 component industry.
• Strong motivation to drive results.
• Ability to establish and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Strong analytical skills necessary to plan and prioritize own work and complete work on schedule.
• Ability and drive to solve problems and suggest proactive solutions.
• Permanent work authorization in the U.S.
