For over ten years, TheaterMania.com has connected the theater community to the public as the leading online resource for consumers to find shows, save money, and buy tickets nationwide. TheaterMania.com publishes comprehensive show listings, editorial content, and video coverage for over 40 markets and widely distributes free email newsletters and special offers to over 650,000 registered subscribers. In addition, TheaterMania.com creates online marketing programs for performing arts organizations, and provides technology to power ticketing, fundraising, and CRM through its proprietary software, OvationTix.

The Marketing Intern will assist the Marketing Department in promoting and marketing TheaterMania. Internship duties include but are not limited to the following: - Promote and market Theatermania to blogs and targeted sites - Update and monitor TheaterMania’s Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr, Pinterest and other online platforms - Monitor and update weekly statistics reports with an eye for analysis - Assist with various TheaterMania promotions, PR, events and guerilla marketing initiatives - Assist in collection, evaluation and organization of media kits and rate cards - Update marketing calendar - Attend and participate in weekly marketing meetings

Responsibilities

Daily Tasks - Update all TheaterMania platforms (including multiple Facebook accounts, Twitter, Pinterest and Tumblr pages) - Monitor and respond to reader discussions on social platforms Weekly Tasks - Create and track TheaterMania traffic and subscriber stats - Track and monitor TheaterMania brand identity on social media sites - Organize and categorize media kits and rate cards - Assist with project management of viral videos - Flyer and promotional product distribution - Online distribution of viral videos - Assist with execution of marketing and advertising materials for contests - Create status reports of tasks accomplished and to-do items for weekly meeting - Stay abreast of marketing and theater industry news

Requirements

- Current college student in the NY-Metro area - Pursuing a BA/BS degree in Marketing, Advertising, PR, Social Media, Communications or similar field - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint - Interest in new media and marketing - Incredibly solid understanding of social media and online media - Excellent organizational and time management skills - Detail oriented - Excellent writing and verbal skills - Team player but also a self starter who can work independently - Prior relevant experience preferred but not required
