As part of HSN's Marketing Department, the Strategic Marketing Alliances (SMA) team coordinates partnerships, promotions and marketing campaigns with outside companies and HSN. As an intern on the Strategic Marketing Alliances team, you will complement your classroom learnings on tactical execution in all media (TV, Digital, Print, Social, Mobile and Sales), trade and consumer promotion campaigns, program tracking and analysis, direct marketing, and market research. You will also learn how to negotiate a strategic alliance, how to develop a successful marketing campaign and more. You will work across multiple departments in this internship, including Brand Marketing, Public Relations, Creative, Digital Content, Social Media, and Merchandising. You will also have the opportunity to interface with non-profit Cause-Related Partnerships. The SMA team is comprised of seasoned Marketing, Public Relations and Sales executives, and you will have direct one on one contact with all the executives in the department. By the end of your program, you will have a complete understanding of how HSN develops multi-platform marketing programs for brand name products and services for millions of HSN customers. Key tasks performed on a regular basis include but are not limited to: *Project management *Campaign and project analysis and reporting *PowerPoint Presentation preparation *Microsoft Excel spreadsheet compilations *Maintain media and records library *Packaging and shipping of marketing materials (as needed) Student Learning Objectives *Understand how multi-disciplinary marketing/sales departments interact with each other *Understand the role of Strategic Marketing Alliances and Brand Marketing *Identify key business operating roles, marketing attributes and operating functions by department *Prepare written marketing strategic briefs *Differentiate between a strategic and tactical marketing initiative *Prepare a PowerPoint presentation on the results of a marketing initiative *Make recommendations on future steps on the program

Minimum Requirements:

*Must be earning college credit *Must be able to participate at work a minimum of 20 hours a week

*Problem-solver, ability to 'think outside of the box' and find solutions*Multi-tasker, able to handle several small projects at a time*Adaptive, ability to react quickly to changing priorities
