Description
Marketing and Sales intern required for dynamic fashion Social Enterprise in Cape Town, South Africa. Company produces eco-friendly and fairtrade fashion products. The business brings economic development and opportunity to women living in impoverished conditions in the urban slums.
Responsibilities
-• Marketing
• Support Operations Manager and Founder in implementing marketing strategy
• Conduct marketing research as needed, focused on expanding base for the fashion line both in South Africa and internationally
• Support Operations Manager and Founder in communications, preparing for presentations, and follow-up as needed
• Sales of the fashion brand
• Create base of local gift shops and boutiques selling the company's products
• Build a relationship with high-end hotel concierges, tourism officials, and other relevant professionals who can become invested in sending clients to the company's Boutique
• Spend one day per week based in the Boutique, welcoming clientele, training sales people, and helping with additional needs
Requirements
• Full commitment to the fair trade approach to business
• Experience in marketing and/or sales, ideally in the fashion or design sector
• Passion for communications in all forms (face-to-face, email, phone, etc…)
• Go-getter attitude needed for sales
• Computer literacy including MS Office (Excel, Power Point, etc…)
• Fluency in English
• Energetic, self-driven, organized professional with a passion for the design/fashion/sector
• Can-do attitude needed to thrive in a small start-up organization
• Related degree
