THE MARKETING/PR INTERN assists in day-to-day activities of the Marketing Department and directly assists CENTERSTAGE’s Public Relations Manager. The Marketing/PR Intern assists in drafting press releases; updating and maintaining contact lists; helping collect bio material for show programs; monitoring and archiving press coverage; assists in the organization and running of Marketing/PR events including Opening Night, Meet the Actors, Night Out, and CENTERSTAGE participation in Baltimore area fairs and festivals. The intern also manages institutional donations; administers/manages surveys and related data; helps with material distribution; offers website and social media support to the Digital Media Associate; serves as support for the Marketing Manager and serves as backup for Box Office. Applicants should have experience in marketing and communications, journalism, and/or the non-profit field; strong writing and editing skills; strong organizational and time-management skills; superior public relations, promotions, and event management skills; outgoing and positive personality and basic video, photography, and social media skills.
ABOUT THE PROFESSIONAL INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
Graduating college seniors and recent graduates are invited to apply to CENTERSTAGE’s 2013-14 Professional Internship Program, which provides hands-on experience and professional guidance to early-career artists, craftspeople, and administrators.
Interns at the Baltimore-based LORT B/C theater work full time from mid-August to early June, enjoying benefits that include free housing, a weekly stipend, networking opportunities, and professional development.
