Master Research and Manufacturing, Inc. (MRM) is a California Corporation established 35 years ago as a high technology innovative company driven to service major aerospace companies. We manufacture high precision complex machined parts and assemblies for the aerospace industry. The critical components we build are used in military and commercial aircraft and support equipment.

Responsibilities

Manufacturing Engineering Interns will work with designing fixtures, creating CNC programs using Catia and Cad Cam software, update layouts, conduct time studies for specific jobs, and partake in Lean implementation for our factory. Intern will: • Design fixture for machine operations such as turning and milling. • Design fixture/tooling for “in process” inspection. • Create Cad drawing of fixtures and parts. • Write specific programs for CNC machines. • Verify and edit a CNC program on an actual machine tool. • Improve machining process using new cutting tools and programming • Setup, operate and troubleshoot various production problems on CNC machines. • Explain functions of the machine tool and its position movements. • Conduct tool change activities and operational sequences. • Calculate speeds and feeds for the machining process. • Manufacture parts per print in a machine shop environment

Requirements

• Strong understanding of drafting and drawing interpretation. • Basic knowledge of Catia & Cad Cam software. • Must be college students (preferably juniors or seniors) currently in pursuit of an engineering major (mechanical, manufacturing, etc); graduate students and recent college graduates engineering are also eligible to apply. • Strong experience and proficiency with Microsoft office and Outlook. • Strong verbal and written communication skills. • Receptive and supportive of change and acceptance of assignments from multiple sources.
