Texas Children's Hospital Pavilion for Women
Expanding upon Texas Children's Hospital reputation in fetal and neonatal medicine, the Pavilion for Women, located in the Texas Medical Center offers a full range of maternal, newborn and gynecological services, all in one location.
The Pavilion for Women will advance the hospital's mission with a full range of obstetrical services including but not limited to: evaluation and consultation, preterm birth evaluation, perinatal diagnostic and treatment services, childbirth and parenting education classes and lactation and psychosocial support services.
In addition, expectant mothers have access to a full spectrum of fetal therapies and for infants in need of specialized care, the Pavilion for Women offers both a Level II and Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), as well as access to expert pediatric subspecialists representing more than 40 specialty areas, all in one location.
The Pavilion for Women also provides a full range of gynecological care, from annual well care checkups to highly specialized procedures and minimally invasive surgeries.

Gather information, assess and provide direct care to patients.
Assist in the collection of patient/family data, including biophysical, psychosocial, developmental, cultural and environmental information; collect and document vital signs, height/weight and reason for visit; graph data; document current medications, allergies and other information. Prepare patient for exam; assist provider during treatments, examinations and tests; complete treatments/lab; document interventions; call in prescription refills; take messages and return calls from parents; keep rooms stocked with supplies. Administer medication and document any adverse reactions. Assist with education of patient/family. Coordinate referrals and triage patients.
Knowledge and Skills:
Fundamental knowledge of pediatric assessment and treatment required. Knowledge of related OSHA, CLIA and JCAHO guidelines and requirements, as well as general office tasks, confidentiality and filing system also required. The ability to use thermometer, scales, sphygmomanometer/stethoscope, scalp vein needles, hearing/vision screening equipment, pulse oximetry, typanometer, basic laboratory equipment (microscope, centrifuge, hematology analyzer) and specimen collection required. Must be proficient with treatments such as nebulizer, ear irrigation and dressing changes and familiar with all business office machines (computer, multi-line telephone, copier and fax machines).
Education, Licensure and Experience:
High school graduate or GED and graduation from a school of medical assisting required. Formal clinical education may be substituted by MA certificate.
