PURPOSE: To provide patient care and excellent customer service for Employee Health Wellness. To assist in the coordination of flow and provider schedules to effectively manage patient care
Demonstrates positive and effective interpersonal skills, communication, and customer service skills. Facilitates the appointment check-in procedure. Collaborates with clinic staff to ensure efficient patient flow. Provides high quality, cost-effective patient care in collaboration with clinicians and in conjunction with the patient. Collects specimens and performs Point of Care Testing (POCT). Facilitates patient flow as the scheduling master for the clinic.
Knowledge and skills:
Knowledge of nursing/medical assistant patient care tasks, the managed care industry, appointment scheduling, related medical terminology and customer service concepts. The ability to operate proficiently a personal computer and basic clinic/patient care, office equipment; demonstrate interpersonal skills; demonstrate good verbal communication skills; demonstrate good time management skills and provide excellent customer service skills. The ability to demonstrate quick decision making and self-initiated work behaviors is necessary. Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred.
Formal education and work experience:
¿ a high school diploma or equivalent
¿ certification as a certified medical assistant (CMA), registered medical assistant (RMA) or emergency medical technician (EMT)
¿ 2 years of related experience
Experience in a healthcare setting or customer service-focused industry is preferred. Outpatient clinic operations experience is preferred. A college degree is preferred
