Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital opened its doors to Northwest Houston in December 2000. In May 2010, a major expansion on the 52-acre campus doubled the size of the hospital, brining more expertise, more state-of-the-art technology and more specialized care to the community. With 251 licensed beds, 14 operating rooms and over 1,400 employees, Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital was specifically designed to provide comprehensive, personalized care for the community.
The Admitting representative is responsible for obtaining and inputting accurate demographic and insurance information on the hospital information system on patients, presenting at the various entry points of the health center. The Admitting representative is responsible to adhere with all statutory and regulatory requirements (HIPAA, EMTALA, etc) along with hospital policies and procedures. He/She is responsible for cashiering functions, ensuring that all hospital accounts are secure, through the collection of required admission co-pay, deductible and performs medical necessity check, to ensure compliance with medicare guidelines.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: High School graduate or GED Some college hours preferred EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Minimum of 2 years of public contact experience with 1 year health care experience in registering patients for hospital admissions. Minimum of 1 year experience contacting insurance providers and verifying insurance.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Minimum typing skills of 40 words per minute. Medical terminology experience required. Intermediate level experience with MS Word, Excel and Outlook required. Excellent communication skills (written verbal) in English required. Ability to multitask and to work in a fast paced environment required. HBOC-McKesson Healthquest (HIS) experience preferred.
