Description

The mission of INMED Partnerships for Children is to rescue children from the immediate and irreversible harm of disease, hunger, abuse, neglect, violence or instability, and to prepare them to shape a brighter future for themselves and the next generation. Our Compton-based office supports pregnant and parenting teens through case management, STD education, and job training. INMED Partnerships for Children has an ideal position for a college student or recent graduate seeking experience in nonprofit development and fundraising. Candidates must be available at least 8 hours per week with a minimum 3-month commitment. AS A DEVELOPMENT INTERN YOU WILL: • Become familiar with the inner workings of a nonprofit organization • Gain experience in the proposal development process • Develop skills for a future career in nonprofit development • Work with a great team of committed nonprofit professionals

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES and DUTIES: • Research and evaluate prospective funding opportunities (federal, state, local, foundations, and corporations) • Draft solicitation and acknowledgement letters • Research current public health-related trends • Assist with grant proposal preparation APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS: Please send a resume and cover letter stating why you are interested in interning at INMED Partnerships for Children, what you hope to gain, what you can contribute and the time period during which you seek to intern. SKILLS NEEDED: • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Ability to present information concisely • Strong organizational skills • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint • Strong interest in nonprofit management and fundraising
