GSK is seeking an Operational Excellence Co-op at our consumer healthcare manufacturing facility in Oak Hill, NY.
Reporting to the Operation Excellence Engineers, the purpose of this role is to assist in the implementation and sustainability of performance management, A3 project management, operator standard work and manufacturing waste reduction.
Responsibilities
• Support effective workplace organization, including Lean Six Sigma aspects and techniques
• Support equipment validations and new product introduction
• Develop systems to collect and report key performance indicators
• Collect data for continuous improvement of operational and support function processes
• Assist with operational and support function process Kaizens
• Assist with implementation of standard work, 5S and performance management for new product mixers and packaging lines
• Assist with continuous improvement of packing line changeovers to improve upon target times and ways of working
Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
• Pursuing bachelor's degree in the field of Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Industrial Technology
• Sophomore classification or higher
• 2.8 cumulative GPA or higher
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and basic PC operation
Preferred Qualifications:
• Demonstrated knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodology including standard work, 5S, and waste reduction
• Basic knowledge of Visual and Performance Management
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams
• Ability to coordinate multiple, simultaneous projects
