DescriptionMain Street Partners’ mission is to foster the growth of small businesses in order to save and create jobs and strengthen local inner-city families. We do this by providing small business owners with access to professionals from top strategy, banking, and marketing firms such as Bain, JP Morgan, and Digitas. These professionals work with the small business owners to provide high end consulting, tangible business tools, and enhanced business knowledge.
Main Street Partners is a young non-profit organization which is run with a start-up mentality. MSP leadership, along with leaders at City Hall, City Year, McKinsey, and elsewhere believe that MSP has the potential to be the next Teach For America or Peace Corps, and we work hard to make sure that happens. With over 75 volunteers from the best firms in the country and small business clients from all industries, MSP offers the right candidate a breadth of learning experiences and exposure that set this experience apart.
MSP also is committed to developing the type of culture and work environment that allows everyone to love where they work. Located in the heart of Harvard Square, the office contains a ping pong table where employees regularly go to recharge and brainstorm, as well as a strict dress code of what whatever makes you happy.
Finally and most importantly, MSP offers interns and employees the opportunity to make an impact to change the lives of business owners, families, and communities.

ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities will work closely with organizational leadership to conduct market research, assist with the evaluation of project effectiveness, investigate potential grant opportunities and corporate partnerships, help develop materials for meetings and presentations, and perform a variety of other organizational development activities.
- Experience using PowerPoint (Excel is a bonus but not necessary)
- Comfort presenting to and interacting with a variety of audiences
- Some knowledge of small business (whether through personal or academic experience)
- A team first attitude
- The desire to make a difference
- Must be willing to commit to being in the office at least one day a week
