Description

Operation interns work primarily in the Master Control and Control Room areas, where they are taught to load and cue tapes for air, setup satellite feeds, program and load commercial insertion equipment, and gain an appreciation for broadcast standards and references. The Control Room is where all the behind the scenes action occurs. During live broadcasts, this room is filled with Producers, Directors, Tape Operators and Graphics staff. Interns will learn how to operate audio equipment and the director’s board. Master control is the “heart” of any broadcast operation and ultimately responsible for the technical quality of the on-air signal. An internship in operations can be used as a stepping stone to go on to studio production as a Director or Camera Operator. *Internships are available for school credit*
