New Earth Organic Farm is part of an Ecovillage in Northern New Hampshire. New Earth Organic Farm is one of the largest organic farms in the region practicing eco-friendly agriculture. It provides healthy, fresh organic vegetables, eggs and hay to the local community. During this internship program you will learn the sustainable and organic methods used in the process from seeds to table.
Our Internship Program will also give you the opportunity to experience all aspects of life in an Ecovillage. Our Mission is to develop an Ecovillage that gives priority to the education of children and sustainable development based on the respect of all living things.
Responsibilities
• Helping in different area that concerns organic farming:
• Preparing the soil, composting, seed-starting, transplanting, watering and fertilizing
• Weeding, harvesting, collecting seeds, pest control
• Feeding chickens, collecting eggs and getting orders ready for sale
• Depending of the season you may do hay cutting, baling and firewood stacking
Requirements
• Interest in farming in a rural area
• Must be in good shape for physical jobs
• Open minded and dynamic
• Flexible to do different task
• Enjoys team work and people
• Non smoker
• Speaks English or French
