Organization SuperSibs! is a national nonprofit organization that recognizes, honors, and supports siblings of pediatric cancer patients. Headquartered in Palatine, IL, SuperSibs! assists these “shadow survivors” to redefine the cancer experience to face the future with strength, courage, and hope. SuperSibs! currently serves over 30,000 children from across the US. and Canada. Position & Description SuperSibs! is seeking an Outreach Intern to commit to 10 hours/week for a minimum of 12 weeks. As a SuperSibs! Intern, you will participate in outreach services, communicating with medical and psychosocial professionals. The ideal SuperSibs! candidate is a college student with a strong organizational and communication skills, working knowledge of Microsoft excel, strong work ethic and an interest in our mission to support siblings and their families through a cancer diagnosis. We welcome fresh ideas to help us achieve our objectives.

Responsibilities

Intern Responsibilities: The intern will assist with all aspects of Outreach and will be responsible for researching and maintaining information about support services. Duties include, but are not limited to: • Insuring that contacts are current and accurate • Developing and executing a plan to research and gather information on support services. • Communicating with medical and pychosocial professionals. • Developing and executing an outreach communication plan. • Assisting in referral process. • Administrative duties as needed. • Researching conference and professional association opportunities • Researching related organizations for development of new partner opportunities • Attending SuperSibs! events as needed
