DescriptionCreated in 1962 through a unique agreement between the Organization of American States (OAS) and the private sector, the Pan American Development Foundation (PADF) is an independent, non-profit organization 501(c)(3) that creates public-private partnerships to assist the least advantaged people in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The Pan American Development Foundation is accepting interns for Summer 2012 to assist in various departments throughout the foundation. PADF Interns have the opportunity to make meaningful contributions to the Foundations and gain vaulable experience working in a private, international, non-profit organization. Specific dates and hours of internships vary depending on department but are in general relatively flexible. PADF internship positions are unpaid. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
Below is a list of the departments within PADF that are currently accepting applications for internships:
Office of the COO - Graduate Level
The office of the Deputy Executive Director and the COO is seeking a graduate level intern to assist in the coordination, planning, and implementation of PADF's strategic planning initiatives.The job duties will vary from day to day but could include: fielding research projects, creating focus groups, analyzing quantitative data and composing communication to project team members and stakeholder groups regarding strategic planning activities.The ideal candidate would be a graduate-level student passionate about LAC and international development, and interested in pursuing international development as a future career choice. Fluency in Spanish or French is desired but not required
The intern will be involved in all aspects of the organization’s communications activities – with a strong emphasis on social media, online writing and editing. The ideal intern will posess strong writing and editing skills, the ability to tell compelling stories about PADF’s programs and its beneficiaries and the ability to work independently and multitask.
Fluency in Spanish or French is desired but not required.
As part of the human resources team, the Human Resources Intern will provide administrative support to the department's functions including; employee records management, employee activities, and recruitment support. This is a good opportunity for someone who is looking to learn and begin a career in human resources. The Ideal candidate will be a senior or graduate student studying HR, Business Management.
