American Medical Response (AMR) has an immediate opening for a part time Wheelchair Attendant. The qualified candidate must hold a valid drivers license and obtain and maintain CPR and first aid certification. HS Diploma or GED and related experience or training desired. Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Wheelchair Drivers provide transportation for patients to and from hospitals, extended care facilities, dialysis centers, physicians offices or residences, using skill and compassionate driving to avoid sudden motions detrimental to patient. Verbally communicates with dispatch, customers and operations; uses appropriate forms when documenting information; maintains vehicle in a safe and efficient operating condition, ensuring cleanliness of equipment and supplies; participates in quality assurance activities. Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one to two and a half years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, or operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Job Summary: To provide astonishing customer service through the safe and efficient care and transportation to non-ambulatory or disabled persons normally confined to a wheelchair or in need of other patient assist devices. Trained in accordance with AMR policy and appropriately licensed in accordance with any state requirements.

Obtains and maintains CPR and first aid certification.
