Type: Full-Time or Part-Time (depending on Intern availability) Location: Interns will work on-site in the South Jersey area (primarily in Atlantic City, New Jersey) Internship term: May – July 2013 Compensation: Academic Credit (potential room & board provided)

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Trainer in designing, developing and delivering comprehensive strength, speed, agility, and conditioning programs for assigned college and high school basketball athletes • Assist the Head Trainer in establishing annual testing and performance measures. • Assist in teaching proper execution, techniques and safety for all lifts and movement drills. • Assist in effectively motivating athletes to achieve the maximum potential in all areas of performance. • Communicate and work in partnership with Paragon Basketball’s Training Team to provide an integrated program of injury prevention, reconditioning and performance training. • Assist in designing a Nutrition schedule for Athletes to deliver a plan optimize performance and meet weight and performance goals. • Implement and enforce all program rules, policies and procedures with regard to the Strength and Conditioning. • Make sure the area of use is kept clean and orderly. • Assist the Head Trainers to create programs and clinics customized towards players objectives. • Ensure that all activities are conducted in a safe manner. • Perform administrative and other duties as needed.

Requirements

• Associate, College, or Graduate student majoring in Exercise Science or related field preferred. • Ability to maintain athletic facilities. • Ability to accept guidance and supervision. • Must be able to communicate with athletes, co-workers and supervisor in a professional manner. • Must be able to provide excellent customer service to all athletes. • Good character, integrity and adaptability. • Basic skills in Microsoft Office Suite are required (Word, Outlook, Excel, Access).
