Description
The 2NDFLOOR Youth Helpline is a statewide helpline for NJ's youth. Young people can call 24/7 to talk about any problem or concern. All calls are confidential and anonymous.
A 2NDFLOOR Phone Counselor Intern answers phones in our Monmouth County location. We provide a 40 hour training program and Master's level supervision.
Responsibilities
Interns will complete the 40 hours of training and then be scheduled to work shifts answering calls that come in to the helpline.
Requirements
Applicants should be working towards a Bachelor's degree (mental health, social work, psychology, etc) and must need a placement of at least 100 hours. Phone Counselor interns should also enjoy working with youth, have exceptional patience and compassion, and be available during high volume shifts (Fri and/or Sat evenings). We do not place Masters level students at this time. Phone counselors must also be able to get to our location for shifts.
