About Life is good Playmakers: The Life is good Playmakers are the philanthropic action arm of the Life is good Company and an accredited 501(c)(3) public charity. Their vision is a world where all children grow-up feeling safe, loved and joyful. In order to make this vision a reality, The Life is good Playmakers partner with frontline professionals – such as teachers, social workers and Child Life Specialists – who dedicate their lives to helping children overcome poverty, violence and illness. Reports to: Director of Evaluation and Research NOTE: this is an unpaid internship for a graduate student. Traditionally, students are able to receive course credit for participating in a Research Assistant internship. Please check with your course catalog and/or advisor for details.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Data collection: recruiting new participants, following up with them to make sure data has been completed. • Data organization: organizing hard copies of data, maintaining electronic databases, and data cleaning. • Data entry: both quantitative and qualitative • Preliminary data analysis • Literature review: in preparation for academic presentations and manuscripts • Manuscript assistance (potential for author credit)

Requirements

Experience and Skills: • Currently a graduate student with research experience in the field of education, psychology, or social work. • Completion of at least 1 undergraduate course in research methods. • Solid proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and in navigating the Internet, especially online research journals. • Excellent written and oral communication skills • Attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills a must • The ability to prioritize work, multitask, follow directions, and follow-through on tasks is critical. • Energetic, playful, and confident • Highly dependable and strong professional demeanor • Experience using Apple computers and software a plus.
