Provide financial accounting, reporting and client support to investors (General Account and third-parties) in funds managed by Hancock Capital Management
Fund Accounting and Reporting, Client Support
Prepare and issue quarterly and monthly financial statements and other client reporting, in accordance with US GAAP, for each co-investment vehicle and general partner entity
Respond to requests from existing limited partners or potential investors during fund raising process
Respond to ad-hoc requests from limited partners and addresses questions regarding quarterly/annual financial reports from limited partners, in writing and/or verbally
Responsible for preparing client capital calls and distributions
Works directly with auditors during the annual audit of Fund Financial Statements (multiple) prepared in accordance with US GAAP
Responsible for calculations of internal rates of return and multiples by investment and Fund; both Gross and Net
Communicates with custodians to reconcile investment holdings and components of net asset value( NAV) quarterly
Prepare investor allocations in accordance with the terms of partnership agreements and track and process payments of fund expenses
Post all journal entries and quarterly reporting for non-custodian Funds tracked in Great Plains general ledger system
Reconcile all cash received from investors and investments and reconcile bank accounts
Prepare cash flow projections for each investment and identify any variances against cash received
Maintain and update investment data (number of shares, ownership, and other security specific details)
Maintain investment data in database and fund reporting database
Prepare journal entries and monthly financial reports for General Partner reporting to CorporateTax Responsibilities
Work with 3rd party service provider to issue K-1s, federal and state tax returns for investment partnerships and general partner entities
Review and analyze investments in portfolio companies including U.S. partnerships, to determine information needs for tax filings
Review and assist in resolution of federal, state, and local tax noticesOther duties
Assist in new fund launches by interacting with the portfolio management team, legal, IT, and directly with clients
Assists senior team member with ad-hoc special projectsQualifications
Candidate must have a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business
Knowledge of limited partnership accounting is preferred with a minimum of 4+ years experience
The Private Equity Financial Reporting Analyst must have a minimum of 3-5years of relevant business experience.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to prepare responses for client requests and ad hoc reporting
Familiarity with bond interest concepts
Strong attention to detail, quantitative skills, and commitment to data integrity
Proficient with Microsoft Excel skills, and experience with MS Word and PowerPoint
Ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize and work independently internally and externally within tight timeframes
