DescriptionDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct engine application research for the global commercial engine aftermarket.
Product analyst is responsible for ensuring the FP Diesel catalog is updated with the core products required to support the market requirements.
Product analyst will act as the category expert on a particular engine manufacturer.
Conduct global market research to identify which engines are required in a specific region to support the global product strategy.
System maintenance required to launch a new part into the market.
Updating kit tracking sheets and following all parts through the new part introduction process
Write new part introduction announcements and work with the brand manager to publish within FM’s global customer base
First line of contact for all field sales questions regarding application, interchange and supersession data
Required to identify all supersession data and to make the required changes within FM’s catalog and systems to keep catalog current
Responsible for sending new part introduction data to the Regional product teams (EMEA, South Africa, Mexico) and ensuring products are then successfully launched by the regional teams
Work with the customer service team to answer field questions with regards to a particular engine nameplate
Research market prices for new and existing parts and insure parts are priced competitively in all markets.
Work with the pricing team to execute pricing strategy
Actively involved with cross-functional communication throughout organization, which includes working with the sales and customer service team for the FP Diesel brand.
Ability to communicate effectively to sales leaders and key customers
Capable of providing support as requested by supervisor.
Responsible for initiating and implementing new and improved application and market research techniques.
Understanding and delivering overview of commercial engine markets of respective product lines.
Develop competitor analysis as needed by the organization.
Understanding and delivering overview and sales projections of respective product line.
Provide analysis and assessment of market, competitive landscape and products to guide profitable, global growth initiatives.
Understand the key functional characteristics of their respective products.
Identify and effectively communicate critical design and related performance attributes of their products.
Connect product characteristics to critical value drivers of users.REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree required. Higher level degree in business, engineering or corresponding work experience preferred. At least 5 years of work experience, catalog research, product management, customer service, business development and/or marketing/engineering.
Must have a sound understanding of the commercial engine business, both OES and aftermarket
Significant experience in the creation and use of spreadsheets, application databases and presentations.
Understand and analyze the basic manufacturing process of respective products.
Ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
Effective communication skills to convey key concepts/strategies across organization groups and to executive management.
