CCAI Program Internship Description
CCAI has internships available for the fall beginning in August and ending in December. In addition, CCAI can assist in arranging academic credit for your internship. We require a 15-20 hour commitment per week during the internship.
Interns have the chance to work closely with all departments during their time with CCAI, while gaining valuable experience working on Capitol Hill. There will be opportunities to work on program management, event planning, fundraising/development and grant-writing, donor outreach and fulfillment, administration, policy and research.
Responsibilities:
Interns work closely with Congressional offices and offices of elected officials across the country to engage them in CCAI’s program, and the overall issues of foster care and adoption. Interns create communication materials, research program partners, assist in event planning, manage databases, as well as learn about marketing, fundraising, and media relations. Other duties include researching and staying informed on the reports and studies on current adoption issues, corresponding to Congressional staff, assisting in planning policy summits and legislative briefings for federal policymakers and advocates. Interns also have the chance to attend policy briefings and congressional hearings.
Requirements:
Prospective candidates should be college students who share an interest in the CCAI’s goals and objectives. Ideal candidates have a passion for children’s issues; excellent academic standing; excellent writing, researching and editing skills; the ability to coordinate logistics; and the capability of handling multiple tasks successfully in a fast-paced professional environment. Ideal interns would possess the professionalism necessary to engage people from all walks of life, have a thirst for knowledge, be self-motivated, and have a passion for fighting for vulnerable children around the world in need of loving families.
