WTEV CBS47 and WAWS FOX30 Promotion Department can offer college interns the opportunity to learn about public relations, communications and the marketing workforce. Interns will have the opportunity to work closely with Promotions, News, Creative Services and other departments - receiving a well-blended media internship.
Responsibilities
Students will get to develop skills in the following areas while interning at WTEV CBS47 and WAWS FOX30:
• Writing for station image, news and special events
• Helping in any planning and recapping of all promotions
• Assisting with special events
• Assisting in the pre- and post-production process with our on-air producers
• Assisting with daily news topicals
• Assist with station sponsored events
Requirements
To be considered for an internship in the Promotions Department, students must:
• Be enrolled in college courses in their graduating semester and must be receiving college credit for the internship. WAWS/WTEV does not offer paid internships.
• Be able to work at least 16 hours a week.
• Study TV Broadcast and have taken courses in Principles of Journalism, Writing for Media, Broadcast Writing, TV Production, or similar Broadcast based courses.
