As a PhD intern at PG, you will be working on projects that will expand your capabilities (that can be completed within 10-12 weeks) and will be meaningfully related to your classroom and research education. Successful candidate will apply molecular modeling techniques to predict technical performance and guide experiments in the area of personal care products. This will first involve working with a multidisciplinary team to understand the technical problem(s) to be solved and existing internal and external molecular models. Candidate will then develop new and/or apply existing models against one or multiple technical problems as defined above, including the design and excuction of benchtop chemistry experiments where necessary to vaildate the models. We are looking for candidates with solid technical problem definition and solving skills, good team experience, and who have demonstrated depth and breadth in their molecular modeling work. Candidates will need to effectively handle multiple priorities. Job Responsibilities:
- Closely interacting with a multidisciplinary team (chemists,biologists,formulators,etc) to understand relevant technical areas to model against.
- Applying existing and/or developing new modeling methods and software against technical areas defined via above.
- Recommending and designing lab experiments required to validate modeling output.
- Providing a final summary presentation to share results to the broader technical team.
Candidatesshould attend graduate school in a US State or territory, beenrolled in a STEM PhD graduate program of studyand be eligible to work in the United States.
