As a PhD intern at PG, you will be working on projects that will expand your capabilities (that can be completed within 10-12 weeks) and will be meaningfully related to your classroom and research education. The applicant will engage in deploying handheld optical coherence tomography for application to imaging of oral biofilms and integrated microscopy/skin elastography technologies to develop innovative metrics to quantify pressure-induced mechanical deformation of skin and skin properties related to "firmness."
NOTE: This internship is part of a recently established collaboration between PG, QS GCO and the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology, University of
Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, to harness cutting edge capabilities in biophotonics imaging towards problems of direct application to the Oral Care, Baby Care and Beauty
BUs. A PhD student from the Institute's lab has already been identified who is ideally qualified for and interested in this role. Job Responsibilities:
- Deploy and demonstrate the apploication of optical coherence tomography based metrics to the quantification of oral biofilms (oral Care BU application)
- Deploy and demonstrate the application of integrated microscopy and skin elastography metrics to the quantification of skin firmness (Beauty BU application)
Candidatesshould attend graduate school in a US State or territory, beenrolled in a STEM PhD graduate program of studyand be eligible to work in the United States.
