The intern would be assisting our Case Workers in the acculturation, socialization, employment and case management of refugees coming from Ethiopia, and other war-torn countries.
Responsibilities
Caseworkers provide orientation, case management, transportation, etc. for refugee individuals and families. Documentation skills are a must. This is a wonderful opportunity to work with a vulnerable, low income population, and gain case management skills, as well as learning about resources in the Dayton OH community.
Requirements
Long-Term internship (100+ hours) requires you to work at least 8+ hours/week, ability to work during the day, working toward a Bachelors or Masters Degree in social work, psychology, international studies, or similar. Must have attention to detail, be able to pass background check, have access to a car during working hours and good driving record. Ability to present information and work with people of limited-English speaking abilities.
