Maiden’s US business unit is currently looking for a highly motivated, self-starter to fill our opening in the Mt. Laurel, NJ office for an IT Intern. This opportunity affords the intern access to IT associates within the Business Intelligence reporting group as well as exposure to other department personnel.

Responsibilities

• Under the direct day to day supervision of a Business Intelligence group staff member, develops custom business unit requested reports on the Maiden Global Services reporting environment based on the direction and priority outlined by Business Intelligence group • Documents technical report requirements with direct supervision • Interacts with technical Business Intelligence and other Information Technology team members as needed to perform development of Business Objects Web Intelligence and Crystal reports • Limited coding of Oracle SQL if required in the report specifications • Performs report development in a three tier (test, model, and production) development workflow environment • Additional work with technical tools other than Business Objects or Oracle (such as MS Access query) may be necessary as needed to complete the report requirement • Internship position is anticipated to complete and deliver, on average, one report per week for the duration of the internship

Requirements

Experience: Some work experience necessary, preferably in an office environment. Experience does not need to be related to the position Education: • Candidate must be working towards a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems or equivalent program and have completed, at minimum, their sophomore year • Classes taken in computer development tools, databases, and other technical development platforms a plus Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Understanding of relational database concepts. Oracle PL/SQL, Transact SQL, Business Objects a plus • Development language class study or technical tools study a plus • Familiarity and experience with Microsoft Excel, Access, and other standard desktop software • Good communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work in a team oriented environment • Self-motivating individual willing to complete assigned tasks and direct day to day supervision • Able to document work performed • Comfortable meeting with Information Technology professionals on a daily basis and report progress on assignments
