DESCRIPTION: At the International Tennis Hall of Fame explore the dynamics of the retail specialty industry in a supportive, challenging, and fun setting. The retail presence at the International Tennis Hall Fame consists of four stores – the Tennis Store on Bellevue Avenue, the Museum Gift Shop at the entrance of the museum, the Pro Shop at the courts, and the web store. Learn different aspects of the retail store environment hands on including suggestive selling, cross selling, and service strategies. Work on product development projects from concepts & development through production & promotion. Business exposures include customer service, store operations, associate development, and visual merchandising. As an intern you will be working closely with management, customers, and associates, to maximize business potential. TIME COMMITMENT: Summer internships will start at the end of spring semester and continue through July. These students are expected to work 30 to 40 hours per week, with the exception of our tournament week July 6-14 - student must be prepared to work straight through every day all day. COMPENSATION: All applicants must come from accredited schools, be applying for a school-approved internship and receiving credit. Students receiving academic credit receive a $20 per day stipend.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES: • First and foremost is to provide our customers with the best shopping experience possible. • Assisting with merchandise management from ordering, to receiving, through to merchandising. • Maintain store replenishment, inventory control, and vendor relations. • Contribute to and maintain the web store.

Requirements

SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS: • Student must be in an undergraduate program majoring in a business-related field, retailing, merchandising, or product development, at an accredited university • Students must be able to provide the highest levels of customer service. • The student must possess a positive attitude, with a professional demeanor, have a strong work ethic with the ability to multi task. • Computer knowledge – Excel, Photoshop, POS system
