Work with on-site retailers to develop and communicate promotions for residents
Work with onsite management team to effectively communicate retail promotions and retail information to residents
Assist in the development/implementation and execution of key signature/ongoing events including logistics, budget management, advertising, post event analysis for each assigned property
Implement effective marketing programs including, but not limited to, coupon books, co-op advertising programs, direct mail, supporting collateral, including posters, counter cards, etc.
Create and send out retail marketing e-blasts to customer database
Interact with merchants via phone, mail, e-mail, or broadcast fax to enroll them in supporting the events program work to create synergy by and between events and retailers.
Write and distribute merchant correspondence including newsletters, memos, and emails.
Complete monthly reports including sales analysis; post event evaluations, quarterly recaps.
Manage relationships with marketing vendors, tenants, and customers.
Update/maintain retail portion of property websites (including store listings, promotions, etc...)
Implement, update maintain and respond to social media communications (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest, Google+, Foursquare) related to retail including retailer promotions and public events at the property
Perform administrative duties as needed including but not limited to invoice research, check request submission, special mailings, collateral and memo distribution and fielding telephone calls.
Track monthly marketing expenses and variances in assigned property budgets.
Work with property management team to build partnerships with key community organizations on behalf of the property.
Develop an excellent rapport with tenants through frequent in-person contact.
Assist in writing and creating retailer correspondence
Review and understand marketing budget, marketing financials and various related reports.
Monitors expenditures and income in regards to marketing budget.
Prepares memos and other correspondence to onsite management staff as required to inform them of marketing activities and requests support, if necessary.
Assist in the preparation, coordination, collection, production, supervision and follow-up of promotions and events
May work with tenants to obtain sales reports
Assist with the preparation of retail marketing contracts and purchase orders
Assist retail asset team in developing and updating merchant manual, and distributing to merchants upon move in
Create and update/maintain master retail tenant database to include management contacts, marketing contacts, emergency contact info, etc...
2 - 3 years of marketing experience, preferably for a shopping center or mixed-use property with retail.
Strong knowledge of the Washington DC market/neighborhoods preferred
Ability to effectively interact with internal and external team members and contacts
Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Must have strong strategic thinking and analysis skills
Must be creative thinker with strong decision making skills
Strong communication, organization and multi-task management skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and deadline oriented environment
Excellent written, verbal and organizational skills
Microsoft office (Outlook, MS Word, Excel and Power Point) and social media platform experience
Flexibility and ability to work nights and weekends is required when marketing events require preparation or attendance
Effective verbal/written communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
Effective customer service skills for interaction with customers, tenants, and co-workers.
Flexible and able to work well independently and as part of a team.
Creative and capable in using imagination to develop new and original ideas in an artistic context.
Active involvement with promotion, event and special occasion coordination a plus.
