The Supervision & Regulation (S&R) Department is responsible for supervising and regulating state-chartered banks that are members of the Federal Reserve System, bank holding companies, and financial holding companies. Organizations within the boundaries of the Seventh District are located within portions of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin, and all of Iowa.
The S&R Risk Specialists division provides horizontal perspective that complements the examination process and concentrates on specific risk areas. The Division oversees the following subjects: market risk, liquidity risk, Basel II, economic capital and risk management modeling, operational risk, fraud, information technology, private equity / merchant banking, Bank Secrecy, accounting, insurance, trust, commercial real estate, retail lending, and asset securitization.
This internship is ideal for someone with strong analytical skills and provides bright students with the opportunity to gain valuable work experience at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago.
Responsibilities
Duties may include:
Reporting and database management
Researching and analyzing data to produce various reports and/or communicate findings to management
Collecting and organizing financial, technical or examination data for report preparation and analysis
Assisting and working with bank examiners and analysts on various department projects
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Education & Experience:
Junior or Senior year student majoring in Finance / Economics / Business Administration / Public Policy
Minimum of 3.0 GPA or above
Master of Business Administration or Master of Public Policy beneficial as well
Knowledge & Skills:
Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently and in a team environment
Strong project management, analytical and interpersonal skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Familiarity with MS Office Suite, particularly in Excel
