The Supervision & Regulation (S&R) Department is responsible for supervising and regulating state-chartered banks that are members of the Federal Reserve System, bank holding companies, and financial holding companies. Organizations within the boundaries of the Seventh District are located within portions of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin, and all of Iowa. The S&R Risk Specialists division provides horizontal perspective that complements the examination process and concentrates on specific risk areas. The Division oversees the following subjects: market risk, liquidity risk, Basel II, economic capital and risk management modeling, operational risk, fraud, information technology, private equity / merchant banking, Bank Secrecy, accounting, insurance, trust, commercial real estate, retail lending, and asset securitization.
