Description
Assist in booking statewide, national and international tours and concerts for the Lula Washington Dance Theatre - a contemporary African-American modern dance company based in South Los Angeles. Will report to the Executive Director and assist him in securing performance engagements for the dance company. Will handle local as well as national/international engagements.
Responsibilities
Secure paid performance engagements for the dance company. This will require the assistant to update sales databases; make cold calls to arts presenters; send marketing materials to presenters; and do marketing and sales via facebook, twitter, eblasts, email, telephone sales, and direct mail. This is a sales job.
Schedule engagements. Handle promotion for the engagements. Book hotels, airplane flights, and coordinate everything related to carrying out the tours that have been booked. .
Requirements
Sales background strongly preferred. Interest in arts administration and management. Must have strong marketing skills, great writing abilities, and must like dance. Looking for a friendly, people person. Persons with experience in booking performing arts tours will get highest priority. Open to any age, any college degree.
