JMPR Public Relations is looking for enthusiastic, sharp and media savvy interns with a willingness to learn the Public Relations industry and acquire important skills involved in day-to-day PR agency life. JMPR is a fast-paced lifestyle PR firm with high-profile and internationally-known consumer, automotive and transportation clients. We are looking for a team player with a great nose for news! Computer experience, social media-saavy and resourcefulness are necessary.
JMPR is recognized as one of the top independent public relations agencies in Southern California. We represent a wide variety of luxury transportation, travel and automotive lifestyle clients such as Airstream Trailers, Bentley Motors, Bugatti Automobiles, Meguiar’s, Inc., Infiniti, Royal Purple and Pep Boys to name a few.
We use a very hands-on approach and give our interns the opportunity to work side-by-side with our account teams on multiple accounts.
Responsibilities
Pitch all types of media in broadcast, online and print industries on behalf of exciting and well-known clients.
Create media lists using Cision Point (JMPR will teach how to do this).
Organizing event logistics and preparing media kits.
Staffing JMPR client events filled with industry VIPs as needed
Depending on skill level, some writing of press materials such as news releases, media alerts, etc.
Requirements
Possess skills at initiating innovative ideas, unifying team members, and judging correctly what will appeal to target audiences.
Prefer challenges that involve communication, are people-oriented, promote networking and socializing, and include roles that call for imagination.
Be willing to learn and enthusiastic about the PR industry Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Power Point.
Have ability to write effectively with correct spelling, punctuation and grammar.
Have excellent phone and email etiquette.
Knowledge of social media networks such as Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, etc. are a must.
