DescriptionThis position begins on February 24, 2013 - May 24, 2013 The sales team sells on-air advertising. Advertising sales are the province of commercial radio stations, whereas public radio stations rely largely on donations. The sales team is led by a manager, whose job is to ensure that the sales team is meeting its quotas and supporting them in clinching deals. Selling advertising in radio is much like selling advertising in print media or on-line. Customers must be identified, their needs must be identified, and then their needs must be satisfied. A good sales team will successfully find new customers, yet still nurture current accounts.
ResponsibilitiesSell www.IRMIXRadio.com to potential advertisers the ability to think on your feet and turn a no into a yes. Meet tight deadlines. Communicate with the Operations manager on the status of your leads. Attend weekly meetings via telephone.
Requirements*** You May Be Working Towards This Degree and Experience*** Must be friendly and a people person! No Exceptions!
Ability and desire to sell, ability to think creatively and generate original ideas.
Excellent writing and presentation skills knowledge of the Radio market, different station and program styles, and audience demographics familiarity with the increasing range of communications platforms, and how they can be used in advertising and marketing campaigns the confidence and tenacity to pursue leads, overcome obstacles, and secure deals.
Resilience and the ability to handle rejection business acumen, and the ability to make accurate forecasts of revenue
attention to detail ability to work independently but also as part of a team self-motivation and adaptability ability to work effectively under pressure, react quickly, and meet tight deadlines.
Determination, diplomacy, and excellent interpersonal skills a thorough knowledge of the law, ethics and industry regulations as they affect radio sales knowledge of when it is necessary, and how to acquire the relevant clearances and licenses, including copyright and music clearances knowledge of the requirements of the relevant Health and Safety legislation and procedures a high level of IT skills - particularly good word-processing and data handling skills.
