Scope of Responsibility: Provide sales support to showroom personnel, while gaining the necessary experience and business acumen to move into an Inside Sales role within 9-12 months of employment. Job Summary: Responsible for providing sales related support to the showroom. The position will spend the first 9-12 months as a trainee, then progress to an Inside Sales role selling appliance and/or plumbing products to customers utilizing showroom environment. Job Duties/Responsibilities: Organizational Training (Months: 1-2)" During months 1-2: • Follows specific training forum outlined in the Appliance Builder Distributor "On-Boarding Training - Checklist for Sales Support Training" guide. Sales Order Support (Months: 2-6) During months 2-6: • Provides sales related support to showroom staff and order management team. • Copies and distributes vendor information to sales team. • Maintains price books and updates accordingly with new information. • Researches issues and responds to phone calls regarding sales orders for customers, job superintendents, builders and sales associates. • Resolves customer service issues by researching and communicating with purchasing, order management and customers. • Enters sales quotes from assigned sales associates; inspects quote for model and price accuracy. • Updates open sales order report for assigned sales associates and ensures accuracy of data to monitor inventory productivity. • Creates specification books for builders as requested by sales associate by researching product specifications, product manuals and internet information. • Participates in industry product training classes to ensure application knowledge is up to date. • Prepares client reports as needed. • Utilizes organizational tools to ensure tasks are completed and deadlines achieved. • Continues JD Edwards training and overall review. • All other duties as assigned. Inside Sales Trainee (Months: 6-9) During months 6-9: • Sells appliance and/or plumbing products to customers with quote order approval by Branch Manager. • Utilizes the support and monitoring feedback of assigned mentor and Branch Manager for training and development. • Continues JD Edwards training and overall review. • All other duties as assigned. Inside Sales (Months: 9-12) During months 9-12: • Displays and/or demonstrates products, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features and benefits. • Qualifies customer, quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales orders by collecting and documenting all necessary information to assure customer expectations are met. • Achieves budgets for sales, margin and inclusions (delivery/installation and warranty). • Determines data of delivery based on customer provided information and project timeline. • Accurately enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database. • Develops and maintains relationships with purchasing contacts. • Investigates and resolves customer problems with ordered product. • Attends trade shows and vendor sponsored training. • Identifies and contacts prospective customer opportunities, which may include work outside of the showroom with management approval for follow-ups and/or site visits with customer. • All other duties as assigned.
Education Requirements: HS Graduate or Equivalent Years of Related Experience: 1-2 Years Travel Requirements: 25% Required Skills: • Six months to 1 year related experience in appliance and/or plumbing sales desired. • Strong computer skills required; MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook. • Excellent communication and negotiation skills required. • Strong knowledge of product application, building processes and installation requirements. • Stays current on appliance product knowledge and industry trends. Preferred Skills: • Prior experience with JD Edwards software desired. • Appliance and/or plumbing industry experience desired.
